What are social problems?

Examples of social problems in society

This.

,I go to a liberal arts and science school in Central Ontario, which is based in a little city of just under 80,000 people.

The local pro-life signs originally looked like this, with maybe 15 of them scattered around town.

,It includes a picture of a baby with the phrase, u201cTake my hand, not my lifeu201d, and a phone number for the local Peterborough Pregnancy and Support Services center for anyone who might want to chose another option other than abortion.

,Thatu2019s it.

,There are no graphic illustrations of torn up fetusesu2019, no accusatory attacking statements towards women, not even any urging to ask for donations.

Literally just a sign saying, Hey! There is another choice! You donu2019t have to abort your baby!Regardless of these facts, every single one of these signs were graffitied across the entire downtown, in similar fashion to the first sign above.

,u201cNow why is this a social issue?u201d you might ask.

u201cThese are the actions of a minority, so why is society at large to blame?u201d.

,The answer lies in societys reaction to these vandalu2019s methods.

No matter which side of the political spectrum youu2019re on, we can all agree that the destruction of public property is wrong.

Yet this vandalism, and distortion of a message which is not even harmful, just contrary to popular university student opinion is being celebrated! Now Iu2019m not one to make assumptions, but if I was going to bet about who spray painted, marked, and cut up these signs, you better believe my money is on a bunch of students from my university, (perhaps even from the gender studies department? but maybe Iu2019m reading into it too much) and not the local permanent community.

,When these signs came up in a Facebook discussion among students my age, the vast majority of the students praised these acts of vandalism.

Saying things like, u201cAny mention of abortion can trigger a women into mental breakdownu201d, and u201cThis graphic message is unfit for the public.

Itu2019s right that it was covered up from the eyes of society!u201d and my favorite, u201cNo one has the right to refuse the choice of women!u201d.

,Ironically, these people are missing the very obvious fact that by purposefully covering the phone number and message of these signs, they actually take away the motheru2019s choice to choose literally anything except abortion.

Which was all the sign was promoting.

,Societyu2019s problem today is that if anything is offensive, heck, if anyone disagrees with you, then they are a Nazi.

And we are supposed to punch such Nazis.

,How about instead we have an open, honest and civilized conversation with our political opponents, rather than exclaiming, u201cThey hate group X !u201d, and completely discounting what they have to say as hate speech and political heresy.

Social issues topics

This is a strange way to bring up the topic of abortion.

Either you have no teaching experience or else you wish to indoctrinate your students with your opinion of this procedure.

,Donu2019t do this.

,If you did this in a classroom with my children, I would be involving an educational lawyer, the teacheru2019s federation, your principal, and your school board for an immediate evaluation of your interpretation of the curriculum, your classroom management style, your professionalism, and your ability to understand the term, u2018do not indoctrinateu2019.

I would press for retraining on your part to understand your job better.

,I wouldnu2019t stop until you understood that you are not in a position to lead the perspectives of your students in a particular direction on such a controversial political topic.

,There are other social issues that you can use to demonstrate a point.

The curriculum document makes suggestions.

Stick with those.

,And remember, there will always be an adult ready and able to respond to such inappropriate teaching.

I am only one.

Current social issues

The current social issue is an economic issue because the very wealthy own all the media and electronic means of communication that people use and they are able to exert and inordinate amount of influence over people.

Increasingly, the wealthiest people have been behaving in a more tribal manner, looking out for their own (the top 1 percent moneyhoarders) against the interests of the rest - and they know the best way to do that is to keep the rest of the people squabbling amongst each other whilst they dig in with their luxury apocalypse bunkers.

,As Bob Dylan said:,Itu2019s a hard,Itu2019s a hard,Itu2019s a hard,Itu2019s a hard,Itu2019s a hard rainu2019s a gonna fall
